College Diploma in Hospitality in Event Management

Humber’s Hospitality - Event Management diploma program offers you the knowledge, practical experience, industry exposure and professional certification necessary to embark on an exciting and successful career as an event management professional.

This program provides comprehensive learning and training opportunities aimed at assisting students prepare for and transition to valued positions in the event industry including:

  • 1. on-site event management experience
  • 2. guest lectures and networking opportunitues with industry professionals
  • 3. field trips to influential organizations within the event industry
  • 4. networking at industry events
  • 5. case studies to broaden knowledge of planning events

In the first semester of the program, you get immediate experience working at several events across the GTA. For the next two years, you will be thoroughly immersed in the world of event management via networking, volunteering and event execution opportunities. Essential skills will be taught to prepare students for many different types of events, culminating with developing a concept for an event, then planning and executing the event and debriefing the outcomes.

PATHWAYS OUT TO ANOTHER PROGRAM:

Bachelor of Applied Management

Graduates of any two-year diploma program at Humber Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning, who have attained a cumulative grade point average of 70% or greater will be eligible to enter year three of the four-year Bachelor of Applied Management (BAM) at the University of New Brunswick, Saint John.
