Overview

Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Civil Engineering)

Study while you work, either externally or on campus, and have the flexibility to adapt your study to your life.

Utilising the University of Southern Queensland’s Remote Access Laboratories and attending residential schools will provide you with the opportunity to enhance your engineering skills.

With your major in Civil Engineering, you will focus on infrastructure design, planning, development, construction and maintenance.

Apply your knowledge through practical work experience and an exciting final-year research project that will give you hands-on industry experience

Previous students have produced projects in material testing and properties of earth-friendly concrete, analysing high-speed rural traffic incidents and the effects of improved vehicle technology on road design.

Diversify your skillset and combine your major studies in Civil Engineering with a four-unit minor in Management, Transport Engineering, Data Management or Mining Engineering.

Professional experience:

You will need to complete a minimum of 60 days of professional experience for your degree.

However, many UniSQ students are already employed in industries relevant to their studies and may be able to write up their existing work experience to meet this requirement.

These experiences provide you with opportunities to put theory into practice.

All students must be able to meet the physical and other professional requirements of practical experience within this program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience:

Suppose you have previously studied in your home country.

In that case, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning to reduce the number of courses you must study to finish your program.

Pathways:

If you don't meet the entry requirements, have pathway options available.

  • Diploma of University Studies (Engineering)
  • English language programs
