Overview

Bachelor of Science (Biology and Food Science)

Biology:

With the Biology major in the Bachelor of Science at the University of Southern Queensland, you will gain a broad knowledge of biology, chemistry and communications, as well as the option of more detailed knowledge in disciplines such as biochemistry, genetics, microbiology and physiology.

This degree will give you a strong grounding for various science-related careers or more specialised postgraduate study.

Food Science:

You will learn about food chemistry and analysis, food processing and product development, and food safety.

You will also develop an understanding of the effects of food components on human nutrition and health.

Put your learning into practice in your final year by attending residential schools and doing a work placement within the industry.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience:

Suppose you have previously studied in your home country.

In that case, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning to reduce the number of courses you must study to finish your program.
