Anthropology:
Anthropology can be used to address some of society’s most compelling questions on war, gender, discrimination, racism and other divisions of power.
You will delve into critical questions about society’s most pressing issues, such as religious and cultural conflict, gender discrimination, racism, food security and other social inequalities.
As such, anthropology is ideal for all, who work in culturally diverse environments.
At UniSQ, anthropology is studied in anthropology and archaeology majors.
Your studies in anthropology include opportunities to practice key methods of ethnography, undertake specialised courses in religion, medical anthropology, and food and culture, and the opportunity to experience hands-on and applied work in museum and heritage studies.
History:
As a discipline that intersects across the humanities and social sciences, History will enable you to develop skills in research, critical analysis and methodology, persuasive argument, and communication and written expression.
At the University of Southern Queensland, you will explore evidence from the past and contemporary times to investigate the origins of fundamental issues relevant to today.
Issues include race relations, slavery, revolutions, nationalism, women’s experience, culture and ethnicity, social movements, globalisation, politics, war and genocide, and historiography.
