Bachelor of Arts (Criminology & Criminal Justice (Extended))

Learn about the criminological theories that explain why people commit a crime, society’s current responses to crime, and the strategies for preventing it.

At the University of Southern Queensland’s bachelor, you will develop skills in specialist areas, including research and investigation practices, forensic and criminal psychology, victimology, punishment, juvenile justice, crime and the media, and environmental crime.

Build a portfolio of skills by combining elective subjects with your criminology and criminal justice degree.

Language pathway (conditional offer) is available

EAP includes two levels, and each level takes 10 weeks to complete. 

To start your studies in EAP, you will need an IELTS result of at least 5.0 in the four macro skills or an equivalent recognised international English test.

Students from non-English backgrounds residing in Australia should meet the following entry requirements:

  • Completing senior secondary schooling in the home country or equivalent, Year 12 in an Australian High School, completed 'A' levels or mature age entry.
  • EAP I: IELTS 5.0 or equivalent
  • EAP II: IELTS 5.5 or equivalent (undergraduate, postgraduate coursework, postgraduate research and doctorate)

Pre-requisites

To study this degree, we assume you have sound knowledge in:

We assume that your knowledge is equivalent to a grade C or higher in Units 3 and 4 at high school level (typically studied in Year 12).

It is also recommended that you have studied Mathematical Methods (Units 3 & 4, C) or equivalent.
