College Certificate - Personal Support Worker

This program at Canadore College trains students to offer personal care and home management services to clients in community or institutional settings. 

Personal support workers provide services to clients with physical, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral challenges. 

Learn hands-on in the classroom, on community placements, and in the home environment simulation lab equipped with high-end fidelity audio/visual equipment and interactive mannequins. 

PSWs are highly sought after as health care providers, working collaboratively as part of the health care team or in a supported independent living environment.

For the English as a Second Language program, it requires a minimum IELTS score of 3.0; for entry into English for Academic Purposes, a minimum IELTS score of 4.5 is required. 

Both programs run full-time for 8 months. Students beginning in English as a Second Language will then take an additional 8 months full-time of English for Academic Purposes before moving into their program of study.
