This course at UTS provides an opportunity at the master's level for professional engineers to extend the knowledge and skills gained in their undergraduate studies in depth and breadth.
The course follows an integrated approach to professional practice through professional engineering subjects, subjects relating to the major and sub-major, an independent project in at least one engineering field, and a set of electives.
The Master of Engineering in Software Systems Engineering major at UTS offers specialised education in designing and developing complex software systems.
Students explore advanced topics, including software architecture, design patterns, and quality assurance.

Applicants must have completed a UTS-recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications demonstrating potential to pursue graduate studies.
It is a requirement that the bachelor's degree is in engineering and relevant to the applicant's proposed major, with no more than 25 per cent of subjects failing.
Applicants who do not intend to undertake a specified major must complete a subject nomination form and attach it to their application.
