Dietetics involves the study of those medical aspects of disease which have a dietary component in prevention or treatment.
It is concerned with the science and art of providing medical nutrition therapy and public health nutrition programs for individuals and groups differing widely in economic, social, psychological and physiological conditions.
In this course, you will study a range of specialised topics in medical nutrition therapy, counselling and food service and undertake placement units in a range of settings such as hospitals, communities, aged care and food service.
You will also complete an independent research project in an area relevant to nutrition and dietetics at Curtin University.

If you are planning to study Curtin English as a pathway to Curtin College or Curtin University, you will apply through your application for your undergraduate, postgraduate or diploma program.
You will receive a conditional offer that packages your University or College course with the Curtin English pathway that you will need to complete.
The primary purpose of this is to assess a range of graduate attributes that are considered essential for dietetic practitioners, particularly communication skills.
A selection panel reviews all applications, and shortlisted candidates will be required to undertake an interview as the final stage of the application assessment.
