Overview

Bachelor of Communication (Strategic Communication)

The Strategic Communication course at UTS will develop students’ skills and knowledge for work in creative advertising, strategic public relations, and the fast-expanding related areas.

Formerly known as ‘Public Communication, ' the Bachelor of Communication (Strategic Communication) is an industry-focused program taught by practitioners and leading researchers.

Students research, design, and produce campaigns for issues and organisations and develop their copywriting, media liaison, and writing skills for digital, traditional, and social media.

They gain an understanding of the practical and theoretical bases for their work and its application to various industries.

This includes environmental, music, and banking organisations within their social, economic, and political contexts.

The knowledge and skills developed in the Bachelor of Communication (Strategic Communication) are designed to produce influential, ethical, and qualified communication professionals.

Students produce coursework that provides them with an array of material for a portfolio to show potential employers.

Industrial training/professional practice

Many assignments are practice-based and relevant to understanding and working in the industry.

Students have the opportunity to undertake a professional internship in an organisation involved in strategic communication.

Bridging courses

UTS Science offers bridging courses in Maths, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.

Bridging courses help prepare you for university studies and learning in the university environment.

Subjects taught in bridging courses do not carry any credit towards your degree but will help you prepare for first-year university subjects.

This may include students enrolling in science courses or other areas of study such as engineering, business, nursing, health, architecture, education, and information technology.

UTS Foundation Studies

If you don't meet the admission requirements for this course, there may be alternative pathways to help you gain admission.

If you’re an international student looking for a university preparation program, UTS Foundation Studies is designed to help you take your next step into Australian university study.

Students who successfully complete the program will qualify for the first year of most undergraduate degrees at UTS or a UTS College diploma for those who need more preparation.
