This combined degree at UTS is offered jointly by the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology and the UTS Business School.
It allows students to complete the core and major components of both the engineering and business degrees, producing engineers with skills in commercialisation of technology innovation and business graduates with professional-level competency in technology use.
Biomedical engineers work towards enhancing health and improving the quality of life by designing medical devices and implementing new technologies.
Students of this interdisciplinary program at UTS learn the fundamentals of human biology, medical science, diagnostics, biomechanics, regenerative medicine, polymer sciences, mechatronics, electrical systems, and information technology.
The coming together of these areas allows students to understand the operation of living systems and to design novel solutions to global problems in medicine and biology.
The students and researchers collaborate on cutting-edge research projects with other schools, centres, and industry partners.
Students graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) without the Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice are required to obtain the equivalent of at least 12 weeks of exposure to professional engineering practice, preferably outside the university environment.

UTS Science offers bridging courses in Maths, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
Bridging courses help prepare you for university studies and learning in the university environment.
Subjects taught in bridging courses do not carry any credit towards your degree but will help you prepare for first-year university subjects.
This may include students enrolling in science courses or other areas of study such as engineering, business, nursing, health, architecture, education, and information technology.
If you don't meet the admission requirements for this course, there may be alternative pathways to help you gain admission.
If you’re an international student looking for a university preparation program, UTS Foundation Studies is designed to help you take your next step into Australian university study.
Students who successfully complete the program will qualify for the first year of most undergraduate degrees at UTS or a UTS College diploma for those who need more preparation.
