Overview

Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Bachelor of Business - No nominated major

This combined degree at UTS is offered jointly by the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology and the UTS Business School

It allows students to complete the core and major components of both the engineering and business degrees, producing engineers with skills in commercialisation of technology innovation and business graduates with professional-level competency in technology use.

Students learn how engineering and business fit together, how to manage technology and innovation, and how to commercialise engineering innovations.

For graduates choosing to practise as engineers, the business knowledge gained in this course will prove invaluable in providing a sound foundation for entrepreneurial initiatives and the commercialisation of engineering innovations.

This combined degree can be completed in less time than would be required to complete the two degrees separately.

Students admitted to the flexible major should decide by the end of the first year of full-time study whether to transfer to a designated major or continue with the flexible program.

Industrial training/professional practice

Students graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) without the Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice are required to obtain the equivalent of at least 12 weeks exposure to professional engineering practice.

UTS Science offers bridging courses in Maths, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.

Bridging courses help prepare you for university studies and learning in the university environment.

Subjects taught in bridging courses do not carry any credit towards your degree but will help you prepare for first-year university subjects.

This may include students enrolling in science courses or other areas of study such as engineering, business, nursing, health, architecture, education, and information technology.

UTS Foundation Studies

If you don't meet the admission requirements for this course, there may be alternative pathways to help you gain admission.

If you’re an international student looking for a university preparation program, UTS Foundation Studies is designed to help you take your next step into Australian university study.

Students who successfully complete the program will qualify for the first year of most undergraduate degrees at UTS or a UTS College diploma for those who need more preparation.
