The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology and the UTS Business School offer this combined degree at UTS.
The flexible engineering major provides a pathway for students to design their interdisciplinary engineering degree.
It also affords students who may be uncertain which area of engineering they wish to pursue an opportunity to sample different disciplines before transferring into a designated major (subject to meeting minimum academic requirements).
The completion requirements for the flexible engineering major include undertaking at least three discipline 'threads' or sub-majors to provide the necessary depth of knowledge, skills and application to the degree.
A thread consists of a subject from the advanced option choice block plus the required prerequisites.
Alternatively, a sub-major could be selected to focus on a pre-packaged specialisation.
It is possible to include subjects from other majors, courses, faculties and institutions with the approval of the program coordinator.
Students admitted to the flexible major should decide by the end of the first year of full-time study whether to transfer to a designated major or continue with the flexible program.
Students graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) without a Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice must obtain the equivalent of at least 12 weeks of exposure to professional engineering practice.

UTS Science offers bridging courses in Maths, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
Bridging courses help prepare you for university studies and learning in the university environment.
Subjects taught in bridging courses do not carry any credit towards your degree but will help you prepare for first-year university subjects.
This may include students enrolling in science courses or other areas of study such as engineering, business, nursing, health, architecture, education, and information technology.
If you don't meet the admission requirements for this course, there may be alternative pathways to help you gain admission.
If you’re an international student looking for a university preparation program, UTS Foundation Studies is designed to help you take your next step into Australian university study.
Students who successfully complete the program will qualify for the first year of most undergraduate degrees at UTS or a UTS College diploma for those who need more preparation.
