The Bachelor of Communication (Social and Political Sciences) at UTS is designed for those passionate about influencing critical areas of public policy, such as climate change, human rights, or issues facing Indigenous Australians and migrants.
In the course, students explore current social issues, investigate society, and analyse the implications of change in Australian and global communities.
In this practice-led course, students work with experienced practitioners to develop their skills as researchers, analysts, critical thinkers, effective communicators, and advocates.
Their interpersonal and public communication skills bring key policy issues to life.
The Bachelor of Communication (Social and Political Sciences) will provide students with a theoretical framework rooted in historical and philosophical perspectives on how societies function.
This is bolstered by applied learning in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Students learn to tackle critical social issues and make a real difference through research and communication, contributing to new and ongoing debates.
All subjects provide students with practical research skills applied in real-world settings.
The final three subjects are project-based, allowing students to work on topical issues and be placed with a community, corporate or government organisation or within the NSW Parliament.
Students can also elect to undertake a professional internship in the industry.

UTS Science offers bridging courses in Maths, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
Bridging courses help prepare you for university studies and learning in the university environment.
Subjects taught in bridging courses do not carry any credit towards your degree but will help you prepare for first-year university subjects.
This may include students enrolling in science courses or other areas of study such as engineering, business, nursing, health, architecture, education, and information technology.
If you don't meet the admission requirements for this course, there may be alternative pathways to help you gain admission.
If you’re an international student looking for a university preparation program, UTS Foundation Studies is designed to help you take your next step into Australian university study.
Students who successfully complete the program will qualify for the first year of most undergraduate degrees at UTS or a UTS College diploma for those who need more preparation.
