Overview

Bachelor of Communication (Media Business)

For students who see themselves developing or managing a contemporary media business, the new Bachelor of Communication (Media Business) at UTS has been designed.

The Bachelor of Communication (Media Business) has been created in response to industry demand for students interested in media production, from film and TV to advertising, music, games, online content, and more.

With a basis in ethical and effective practice, they understand how power, influence, economics, and legal obligations affect media processes and content creation.

The rapid rise of digital technologies globally has transformed how the media do business.

This course builds transferable skills based on the fundamentals of business best practices, including two subjects housed within UTS’s Faculty of Business

It will equip students with the conceptual frameworks and practical skillsets to drive business success in competitive creative industries, deal with dynamic environments, and establish sustainable, ethical practices.

They will negotiate emerging challenges and opportunities within various workplace scenarios, including their creative entrepreneurial work.

Throughout the course, students build a portfolio of work to promote themselves in the job market.

Bridging courses

UTS Science offers bridging courses in Maths, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.

Bridging courses help prepare you for university studies and learning in the university environment.

Subjects taught in bridging courses do not carry any credit towards your degree but will help you prepare for first-year university subjects.

This may include students enrolling in science courses or other areas of study such as engineering, business, nursing, health, architecture, education, and information technology.

UTS Foundation Studies

If you don't meet the admission requirements for this course, there may be alternative pathways to help you gain admission.

If you’re an international student looking for a university preparation program, UTS Foundation Studies is designed to help you take your next step into Australian university study.

Students who successfully complete the program will qualify for the first year of most undergraduate degrees at UTS or a UTS College diploma for those who need more preparation.
