The Bachelor of Design in Architecture at UTS is the first of two degrees needed to become an architect.
Students qualifying for professional recognition as architects must also complete the Master of Architecture.
Through the Bachelor of Design in Architecture, students learn what it means to be an architect in a globalised world.
This is achieved by focusing on how the profession can shape global cities through complex spatial thinking.
UTS takes a hands-on approach to digital design and fabrication.
Students learn the software, materials, and model-making skills required to translate thought into form right from the start.
They can work on real-life projects and engage with stakeholders such as the Powerhouse Museum, ABC, Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority (SHFA), and Sydney Olympic Park Authority.
Students are globally connected, with opportunities to study in, work in or visit cities such as Berlin, Los Angeles, New York and Tokyo.
Through guest lectures, students hear from international experts and are connected to global competitions and scholarships, such as the Cosentino Design Challenge or the Frank Gehry internship program.
Its staff are actively engaged in the industry as practitioners, researchers, and commentators, while its 24-hour studios are always abuzz with students who live and breathe architecture.

UTS Science offers bridging courses in Maths, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
Bridging courses help prepare you for university studies and learning in the university environment.
Subjects taught in bridging courses do not carry any credit towards your degree but will help you prepare for first-year university subjects.
This may include students enrolling in science courses or other areas of study such as engineering, business, nursing, health, architecture, education, and information technology.
If you don't meet the admission requirements for this course, there may be alternative pathways to help you gain admission.
If you’re an international student looking for a university preparation program, UTS Foundation Studies is designed to help you take your next step into Australian university study.
Students who successfully complete the program will qualify for the first year of most undergraduate degrees at UTS or a UTS College diploma for those who need more preparation.
