Overview

Bachelor of Public Health

The Bachelor of Public Health at UTS is a flexible and innovative degree that equips graduates with qualifications to help improve the health of individuals and populations.

It is a broad practice field based on applying scientific principles in governmental and non-governmental health services and the wider industry.

This transdisciplinary course strongly emphasises the social model of health and combines health-specific content with a mix of professional and scientific subjects.

Students can choose one major from the following list after their study commences or continue their studies without selecting any majors.

Majors:

Health Promotion, Global Health, Human Structure and Function, Indigenous Health, and Population Health

In majors, students can gain an in-depth understanding of Indigenous health or health promotion.

Alternatively, students can develop their knowledge of global and international health priorities to contribute to overseas health initiatives and aid organisations or undertake the human structure and function major.

Students who complete this course with the required pathway and grade point average also meet the current entry criteria for the UTS Master of Physiotherapy.

Industrial training/professional practice

A professional placement is undertaken in Year 3.

This may include students enrolling in science courses or other areas of study such as engineering, business, nursing, health, architecture, education, and information technology.

UTS Foundation Studies

If you don't meet the admission requirements for this course, there may be alternative pathways to help you gain admission.

If you’re an international student looking for a university preparation program, UTS Foundation Studies is designed to help you take your next step into Australian university study.
