Overview

Bachelor of Nursing

The UTS Bachelor of Nursing course prepares students for the exciting and challenging role of the Registered Nurse.

This course comprises a comprehensive range of theoretical and clinical nursing subjects, providing graduates with the knowledge, skills, and professional values to provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care.

Graduates are well prepared for clinical practice and highly sought after for employment in various healthcare settings across Australia and internationally.

The Bachelor of Nursing course is a three-year full-time (or equivalent part-time) course with theoretical and practical components.

Clinical learning is a critical element of the course, and clinical placements in healthcare settings begin in the Spring session of the first year and continue every session after that.

Simulation-based learning opportunities are integral to the course and are designed to assist students in preparing for clinical placements and future roles as registered nurses.

In their final year of study, students can choose a clinical specialty elective, for example, paediatrics, critical care, perioperative, palliative care or drug and alcohol nursing.

Industrial training/professional practice

This course includes compulsory clinical placement experiences in various healthcare and community settings.
