This course at UTS offers a sound education in all aspects of computing science and information technology.
It is intended for students who aspire to become researchers or who want a career in a more scientific-oriented computing area.
As such, it provides a pathway to postgraduate research study.
This course adopts a practice-based approach to computing science education.
The course content combines theory and practice with a stronger focus on the mathematics appropriate for computing science and research projects.
As well as gaining strong technical skills in computing science and IT, students gain skills in problem-solving, teamwork and communication.
Students undertake research projects with UTS researchers.

Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics, Business Information Systems Management, Cybersecurity and Privacy, Enterprise Software Development, Interaction Design, Mathematical Analysis, Networking and Cybersecurity, Quantum Information Science
Industrial training is available by concurrently enrolling in the Diploma in Information Technology Professional Practice.
The diploma comprises at least nine months of full-time paid work experience and supporting subjects at UTS.
Students must have progressed to a particular stage of their program of study and completed specific subject requirements before being admitted concurrently to the Diploma in Information Technology Professional Practice.
Students who have completed all subjects in their course may still enrol in the diploma but cannot graduate from their course until they finish it.

Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level.
