The Bachelor of Laws at UTS is one of Sydney's leading law degrees.
It has been developed to help students build foundational knowledge in law practice and the 'soft' skills (problem-solving, analytical thinking, spoken and written communication) required to succeed in a legal career.
The course meets the academic requirements for admission to practise as a lawyer in NSW.
Elective subjects enable students to tailor their degrees to areas of personal interest.
This includes law electives, such as environmental law, human rights law, a major in legal futures and technology, or electives from other disciplines.
Additionally, they can develop a complementary skill set that enhances their professional prospects.
To practise as a lawyer in NSW, students need to successfully complete an accredited legal qualification (e.g. Bachelor of Laws) and an accredited course of practical legal training (PLT), which UTS offers through its PLT program.
The Bachelor of Laws students can complete the PLT program within their undergraduate law degree.
Alternatively, students who wish to practise as lawyers in NSW can complete their Bachelor of Laws by including further law electives and then undertake a postgraduate course in PLT, such as the Graduate Certificate in Professional Legal Practice.

UTS Science offers bridging courses in Maths, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
Bridging courses help prepare you for university studies and learning in the university environment.
Subjects taught in bridging courses do not carry any credit towards your degree but will help you prepare for first-year university subjects.
This may include students enrolling in science courses or other areas of study such as engineering, business, nursing, health, architecture, education, and information technology.
If you don't meet the admission requirements for this course, there may be alternative pathways to help you gain admission.
If you’re an international student looking for a university preparation program, UTS Foundation Studies is designed to help you take your next step into Australian university study.
Students who successfully complete the program will qualify for the first year of most undergraduate degrees at UTS or a UTS College diploma for those who need more preparation.
