The UTS Bachelor of Medical Science combines the study of health science with technical, professional and communication-centric subjects taught by leading researchers and medical science practitioners.
Pathology: This major is focused on the understanding, detection and treatment of disease and infection using industry-standard technologies in immunology, microbiology, biochemistry and molecular biology.
Students learn to diagnose disease, investigate the impact of specific pathologies at the molecular, cellular or organ level, identify, prevent and treat infections, and limit their impact on society.
Students also gain firsthand experience with various blood and tissue testing approaches and biomolecular sensing techniques – skills in high demand in the booming pathology laboratory sector.
