UFV's Bachelor of Media Arts prepares you for creative production in digital and interactive media, one of the fastest-growing industries in B.C. today.
The program is designed to equip you with computing and digital design skills, as well as the skills to work in creative teams.
In addition to learning the traditional techniques and strategies of the creative disciplines, you also develop the ability to master new software and technologies independently.
The program emphasizes the need for practical experience.
As part of your degree, you get to complete a professional practices course to know how to identify and market your skills in an industry where teamwork and creativity are at a premium.
In your last year, your studies culminate in two large project courses where you put your skills to work for a community organization under the supervision of a faculty member.

If you do not meet the academic degree/diploma level, you may be eligible for our Qualifying Studies program. After you complete it and receive a minimum grade of C+, you may be eligible for degree/diploma academic studies.

If you do not meet our Qualifying Studies level, you may be eligible for the English Language Studies (ELS) foundational English and academic upgrading program.
After completing the ELS program, you may be eligible for the Qualifying Studies level. To be eligible for ELS, you must have a minimum IELTS score (or equivalent) of 5.5 with no band score below 5.0.
There are three levels of ELS. Each level of ELS usually takes one semester.
You can apply for the ELS program if:

Students must have B.C. secondary school graduation equivalency, meet the prerequisites for ENGL 105 or CMNS 125, and have completed an equivalent average of B (equated to the UFV grading system) in two academic Grade 12 courses.
If students have completed the International Baccalaureate diploma program, the B.C. Graduation diploma (B.C. Adult Dogwood), or the General Educational Development (GED) certificate, they may be considered to have the equivalent of B.C. secondary school graduation for admission purposes.
