In Macquarie’s Bachelor of Commerce, you’ll study extensive and integrated foundation units that will orient you to commerce and business.

Entrepreneurship is the process of identifying, creating and realising opportunities for new business or social ventures. 

Entrepreneurship involves many activities, such as evaluating ideas, sourcing and organising resources, and weighing the risks and rewards associated with new ventures.

The Entrepreneurship major will help you learn the skills of identifying and developing opportunities. 

Whether you want to develop your own business idea from concept to reality or learn the tricks of managing an innovative business in today’s climate, this major will provide you with the confidence to move forward with your future aspirations.

Academic background and requirement

To apply for an undergraduate program, international students will need to have completed one or more of the following academic qualifications:

  • A recognised senior secondary school qualification or university entrance examination, such as the New South Wales Higher School Certificate (NSW HSC) or other equivalent Australian or overseas high school qualification
  • A recognised university Foundation course
  • A recognised 2 or 3-year Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree
  • At least one year of a university degree from a recognised institution

Assumed knowledge

  • HSC Mathematics Standard 2 or equivalent.

If you don't have the assumed knowledge, you're advised to include a mathematics or quantitative methods elective unit in your first year of study.
