The Bachelor of Forensic Science Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation at UTS prepares students for professional and specialist work in forensic science. 

Developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills is a focus of the degree, with graduates in high demand from diverse industries and organisations.

Creative intelligence and innovation training utilise multiple perspectives from diverse fields, integrating industry experiences, real-world projects and self-initiated proposals, equipping graduates to address the wicked problems, complex challenges and untapped opportunities in today's world.

By focusing on the high-level conceptual thinking and problem-solving practices that lead to innovative, creative, and entrepreneurial outcomes, students of the combined degree also gain leading-edge capabilities that are highly valued in the globalised world. 

These include critical and creative thinking, invention, complexity, innovation, future scenario building, and entrepreneurship. 

Students can choose one of the four in-demand forensic science disciplines after their studies: biology, chemistry, crime scene investigation, and digital forensic science.

Industrial training/professional practice

This course involves significant industry engagement as part of the learning process. 

Students may be required to relinquish intellectual property when they opt into specific industry-related experiences, particularly related to internships and capstone projects.

Academic background and requirement

Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level.

 

Assumed knowledge

2-unit mathematics, any two units of English, and any two units of science.

HSC Mathematics Extension 1, Chemistry, and Physics are recommended.

UTS Science offers bridging courses in Maths, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
