Overview

Master of Business Information Systems

Competitive intelligence is the lifeblood of modern business. From microbusinesses to multinational corporations, those who can harvest and harness their data have a clear advantage.

Suppose you're keen on learning invaluable business skills and investing in your future. In that case, La Trobe's Master of Business Information Systems (MBIS) will help you advance your career in an exciting sector.

Learn how to design, operate and analyse business information systems.

Use the latest tools to analyse data, turn it into insights, and then use this information to drive real business value.

You'll learn through practical, team-based business intelligence projects and use industry tools such as SAP HANA, Design Thinking and R Studio.

Plus, you'll collaborate with the industry when you build and deploy a real-world business intelligence system.

You'll also gain high-level skills when choosing a specialisation in your area of interest, including artificial intelligence in business, data science, applied digital health and more.

Finally, graduate with your specialisation on your academic transcript so that future employers can recognise your expertise.

Develop advanced analytical skills and understand how to use data to build information systems and databases.

Learn how to create enterprise-wide computing systems and grow business intelligence.

Learn from world-class academics and be immersed in research at La Trobe's Centre for Data Analytics and Cognition (CDAC).

Get an added edge with optional industry partnerships, such as the SAS work placement program.

Students should select one specialisation after their study commencing.
