Bachelor of Engineering Technology

The Bachelor of Engineering Technology at CQUniversity is designed to develop your skills and enable you to combine an understanding of engineering concepts with modern technology.

Choose between major options after your study commences, allowing you to pursue a career as an Engineering Technologist in traditional engineering disciplines or an aircraft maintenance engineer.

Suppose you choose to study civil, electrical or mechanical majors

In that case, Suppose your education and training will equip you with the skills to innovatively apply, modify and adapt engineering practices to meet engineering challenges and problems for communities, society and the environment. 

Tailor your course by choosing from a wide range of streams to suit your interests and career goals. 

The course utilises exciting technologies and has a project-based focus. Hence, you benefit from a more hands-on learning experience and can study on-campus in a non-traditional format or by online study.

You will have the opportunity to engage with practising engineers, work on industry-sponsored projects, and access industry-based scholarships offered by some of Australia's leading companies. 

Nine weeks of industry placement during the course also allows you to apply your skills and increase your employability by gaining on-the-job experience.

INTERNSHIPS AND PLACEMENTS

Students must complete 360 hours (including a minimum of 240 hours of industry experience) of Engineering Professional Practice before graduation. 

Once the students have completed the professional practice requirements, they must enrol in this unit and provide evidence of how they have attained the professional engineering practice exposure required by Engineers Australia.

Academic background and requirement

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • A secondary qualification (Year 11 and 12, or equivalent), or
  • A completed Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Diploma level qualification, or
  • Bachelor-level qualification study for at least 2 years full-time with a minimum overall GPA of 4.0 completed in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa or the United States of America will meet the English proficiency.
  • English (Units 3 & 4, C) or equivalent; General Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C) or equivalent; OR
  • Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering – Avionics (10600NAT); OR
  • Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering - Mechanical (10599NAT)·

Note:

  • Aircraft Maintenance - Avionics Major: Students must complete the Aviation Australia Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Avionics)
  • Aircraft Maintenance - Mechanical Major: Students must complete the Aviation Australia Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Mechanical)

China:

Gao San (Senior Middle 3): Grade average of 80% or Satisfactory completion of one year of study at a recognised tertiary or higher education institution 

 

India:

Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) awarded by CBSE, ISC, West Bengal and Maharashtra boards: Minimum average of 60% in four academic subjects.

Higher Secondary Certificate from all other boards: Minimum average of 65% per cent in four academic subjects

 

Iran:

National High School Diploma Pre-University Year Certificate: Successful completion of High School and Pre-University Year Certificate with a minimum GPA of 13 or above (20 point scale)

Academic Pathway:

START UNI NOW (SUN)

SUN is a CQUniversity initiative that allows you to study CQUniversity units in senior high school. 

SUN allows you to enrol in various CQUniversity units (subjects) online, which you can combine with your regular high school work. 

After completing SUN, you may be eligible to apply for direct entry into an undergraduate degree at CQUniversity (excluding quota-managed courses).

ACADEMIC PREPARATION

CQUniversity offers a series of pre-university courses that provide excellent pathways into undergraduate and postgraduate degrees if you cannot meet the minimum academic or English language proficiency required for direct entry.
