Finance and Investment major at Western Sydney University introduces students to the fundamental concepts of finance theory – the time value of money, risk and return, capital budgeting and capital structure – and to the tools of financial decision-making in the Australian institutional environment.
Students examine corporations' investment, financing and dividend decisions and develop an understanding of the basic practices of financial management from the perspective of both large and small firms.
It also introduces the concept of investment analysis in the context of the property.
It explores the unique features of income-producing property and examines the performance of these properties, their loans and their taxation through various investment techniques.
Also covered are risk analysis techniques for income-producing properties and portfolios.
You will have the opportunity to complete either a business internship or a business project subject, applying the knowledge you have gained during the program of your degree.
