In addition to providing training in conventional mechanical engineering subjects, the program introduces students to issues of study that address sustainability, including sustainable design and sustainable energy engineering.
Western Sydney University's Graduates will be well-equipped with broad-based skills that meet the demand of Australian industries and are conscious of the need to promote sustainable design and practices.
Examples include mechanical and machinery design; manufacturing; energy production; and marketing and management activities.
Skills gained are required in manufacturing, materials handling, automobile, aerospace, mining, building services and infrastructure development.
Western Sydney University seeks to enhance student learning experiences by enabling students to engage in the culture, expectations and practices of their profession or discipline.
This program includes placement or other community-based unpaid practical experience.
There is a mandatory work component required for the completion of this program.

Academic English For Tertiary Studies
This program is designed for students with English as a second language who want to develop their language skills.
Each of the five English Academic Programs (EAPs) is taught over 10 weeks and includes 20 hours of face-to-face classroom time per week.

Applicants must have successfully completed a recognised four-year undergraduate degree, or higher, in engineering in one of the specialisations, e.g. Civil, Biomedical, Environmental, Mechatronic, Mechanical, Electrical, or Telecommunication.
Applicants seeking admission based on work experience must support their application with a Statement of Service for all work experience listed on the application.
