Overview

Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) - Civil and Environmental Engineering

Civil and environmental engineers at UTS play a crucial role in designing sustainable urban infrastructure and construction activities in natural systems.

Students in this major use their disciplinary knowledge in civil engineering and their understanding of the interrelationships between humans and the environment to develop effective management strategies for controlling water, waste, air and noise pollution problems.

Graduates from this degree are in an excellent position to undertake roles in environmental consulting, local, state and federal government agencies and catchment management authorities.

Industrial training/professional practice

Students graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) without the Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice are required to obtain the equivalent of at least 12 weeks of exposure to professional engineering practice, preferably outside the university environment.

UTS Science offers bridging courses in Maths, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.

Bridging courses help prepare you for university studies and learning in the university environment.

Subjects taught in bridging courses do not carry any credit towards your degree but will help you prepare for first-year university subjects.

This may include students enrolling in science courses or other areas of study such as engineering, business, nursing, health, architecture, education, and information technology.

UTS Foundation Studies

If you don't meet the admission requirements for this course, there may be alternative pathways to help you gain admission.

If you’re an international student looking for a university preparation program, UTS Foundation Studies is designed to help you take your next step into Australian university study.

Students who successfully complete the program will qualify for the first year of most undergraduate degrees at UTS or a UTS College diploma for those who need more preparation.
