Electrical and electronic engineers combine knowledge of sensing devices, communications technologies and traditional and renewable energy generation systems to develop intelligent, connected smart grids.
They create the infrastructure that underpins modern sensing and control systems used in power systems, industrial control and other real-time systems.
Graduates from UTS can also work in more traditional electrical or electronic engineering roles.
Students in this major must select the Electrical and Electronic Engineering specialist stream instead of electives.
Students graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) without a Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice must obtain the equivalent of at least 12 weeks of exposure to professional engineering practice, preferably outside the university environment.

UTS Science offers bridging courses in Maths, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
Bridging courses help prepare you for university studies and learning in the university environment.
Subjects taught in bridging courses do not carry any credit towards your degree but will help you prepare for first-year university subjects.
This may include students enrolling in science courses or other areas of study such as engineering, business, nursing, health, architecture, education, and information technology.
If you don't meet the admission requirements for this course, there may be alternative pathways to help you gain admission.
If you’re an international student looking for a university preparation program, UTS Foundation Studies is designed to help you take your next step into Australian university study.
Students who successfully complete the program will qualify for the first year of most undergraduate degrees at UTS or a UTS College diploma for those who need more preparation.
