Master of Science in Psychology - Experimental Psychology

Our Department offers exciting opportunities for graduate study in many areas of experimental Psychology. Faculty from all areas supervise students in both the M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs in Experimental Psychology. There are research concentrations in the following areas:

Behavioural Neuroscience
Cognition
Developmental Psychology
Health and Wellness
Social Psychology
 

Students interested in either Animal Behaviour or Cognitive and Behavioural Ecology can choose to pursue either an M.Sc. in experimental psychology or an M.Sc. in the interdisciplinary CABE graduate program.

Students who have completed secondary schooling, an undergraduate program, or a graduate program at a recognized institution where the language of instruction is English will normally not require an English proficiency test. If the institution is located outside of Canada and/or the language of instruction is not clearly indicated on the official transcript, applicants are advised to provide a letter from their university stating the language of instruction.

Academic background and requirement

To gain admission, a student must hold an honours bachelor's degree normally of high second class standing, or its equivalent. Applicants are required to submit results from the General section of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Please note that the GRE is not required for students who are applying for the Ph.D. or M.Sc. in the Behavioural Neuroscience area. The GRE is required for the Ph.D. or M.Sc. in any other area, the MAPS program, and the Psy.D. program.
