International students who do not have an English test score or still need to improve their English skills may be accepted into an undergraduate program on the condition that they will complete full-time English Language Training at UNB before starting their undergraduate degree.

Ideal candidates

  • International students who have been accepted to undergraduate or graduate programs at UNB Saint John — or who plan to apply — but who need to improve their English as a condition of their acceptance

Here are the test score requirements for each level of the EAP program:

  • Level 2 (Beginner I): CAEL 10+ | IELTS 2.0 - 3.0
  • Level 3 (Beginner II): CAEL 20 | IELTS 3.5 - 4.0 
  • Level 4 (Intermediate I): CAEL 30 | IELTS 4.5 - 5.0
  • Level 5 (Intermediate II): CAEL 40 | IELTS 5.5

Academic background and requirement

  • Applicants should hold a four-year (120-credit house) undergraduate degree from a recognized university with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.3.
  • A resume detailing a minimum of two years of consecutive post-graduate full-time relevant work experience.

Pre-MBA program

UNB offers a full-time, intensive, non-credit Pre-MBA program designed to help international students bridge the gap between their undergraduate education, work experience and the entry requirements to the MBA program. 

The program provides the necessary skills and knowledge for a successful MBA transition.

MBA Qualifying Year

Most MBA programs require a four-year undergraduate degree. 

This MBA Qualifying Year is open to anyone with a three-year bachelor's degree or who wants to bring their CGPA up before applying for their MBA.
