Accounting (Diploma)

If you want a financially rewarding career, consider the Accounting Management Diploma. 

You'll take accounting, communications, computing science, economics, finance and marketing classes. 

You’ll get to practise with QuickBooks, Excel, data analytics and Sage 50 Accounting software. 

Once you graduate, you will be equipped to take on junior management positions, including:

managing a firm's financial, general or cost accounting areas, accounting information systems, or financial management practices in small to medium-sized firms.

Douglas College offers year-round day and evening courses to both part-time and full-time students and provides you with flexibility while earning your credential.

Put your skills to work by joining the optional Co-operative Education Program, which alternates semesters of study with paid, full-time work in your field.

Academic background and requirement

  • High school graduation OR 19 years of age by the end of the first month of studies in the semester of entry to Douglas College; and
  • A minimum overall grade average of 60% (or equivalent) in the final year of high school; and
  • A minimum final grade of “C” or 60% (or equivalent) in Grade 11 Mathematics or equivalent for most programs

Note: Some courses in this program require students to have completed Foundations of Math 11 with a grade of C (some courses may have a higher requirement). 

Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you check each course prerequisite and ensure that you have completed the requirements prior to registration.
