Diploma in Agriculture

The Diploma in Agriculture at Manitoba is a practical, hands-on program that prepares students to manage a farm or work in an agricultural business. 

Students will develop the communication and leadership skills needed to succeed in today’s Agri-Food industry.

Students are required to complete a minimum of 93 credit hours of study.

Students must complete the course requirements for the program core and one of the four program options to specialize in an area of interest.

Program options are available in:

  • Business management
  • Crop management
  • Livestock management
  • General agriculture

Intensive Academic English Program (IAEP):

Placement Test (foundations level and levels 1-4)

All students who have not been admitted directly into Level 5 will take a placement test.

Students will be required to take the Duolingo English Test (DET). This test will determine which level students are placed in.


Academic background and requirement

General entrance requirement: 

High school diploma with 5 full credits at the senior level. 

Note: In cases where the number of eligible applicants exceeds the available spaces, applicants will require higher averages than stipulated to be successful in the admissions competition.

Direct entry applicants require the following:

  • A minimum average of 60 per cent over the following:
    • English 40S
    • Mathematics 40S or 45S
    • One of Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Computer Science 40S
