College Diploma - Chemical Laboratory Technician

The Chemical Laboratory Technician program will produce technically skilled problem solvers. Graduates will be prepared to assume entry-level positions in a variety of industrial, government, or consulting organizations. 

The course of study at Lambton College includes hands-on introductions to Laboratory Analyzers and Biochemical and Microbiological techniques as well as an overview of key underlying theoretical principles.

The Lambton Institute of English is operated by Lambton College, a public, not-for-profit Ontario post-secondary institution that provides high-quality academic training in English as a Second Language (ESL) and English for Academic Purposes (EAP)

This Board of Governors certificate program is designed for full-time students who need to improve their English language skills for post-secondary study. 

The program is divided into two categories. English as a Second Language (ESL) and English for Academic Purposes (EAP). 

The former focuses on establishing a strong foundation in the four skills of speaking, reading, writing, and listening in levels elementary and intermediate. The latter focuses on using these four skills for academic purposes.

Following the completion of this Board of Governors certificate program, students are eligible for entry into an academic diploma or post-graduate program

Entry into the Elementary Level requires a minimum score of 20 points on the Oxford Online Placement Test, which is equivalent to the CEFR A2.


Academic background and requirement

O.S.S.D or equivalent with:

  • Grade 12 English
  • Grade 12 Mathematics
  • Grade 11 or 12 Chemistry
  • Grade 11 or 12 Biology (recommended)
  • Grade 11 or 12 Physics (recommended)
