Canadian studies at Manitoba university examines Canada's past and present from a political, economic, social and cultural standpoint.
The program takes an interdisciplinary approach, allowing students to study Canadian themes from a broad range of disciplinary perspectives and to synthesize these perspectives in specific Canadian studies courses.
The Faculty of Arts offers three- and four-year programs of study leading to a Bachelor of Arts in Canadian Studies.

The English Language Centre (ELC) at the University of Manitoba (UM) offers the full-time Intensive Academic English Program (IAEP).
If the student does not meet the English Language Proficiency requirement for their program of interest, the student can take advantage of this program to obtain the Academic English language skills needed to complete a degree.
If you have already achieved one of these minimum test scores, you may be eligible to enter Level 5 of the IAEP directly:
An equivalent minimum average of 70% over the following senior level courses, with no less than 60% in each course: • English • Mathematics • A third academic course • A fourth academic course
