Criminology is concerned with the complex social phenomena of crime and criminalization.
Students in the criminology program at Manitoba university explore the problem of crime, the operation of law and the criminal justice system, issues relating to social justice and human rights, and the agencies and programs designed to prevent, control and respond to criminal activity.
The Faculty of Arts offers three-year and four-year undergraduate degree options in criminology.

The English Language Centre (ELC) at the University of Manitoba (UM) offers the full-time Intensive Academic English Program (IAEP).
If the student does not meet the English Language Proficiency requirement for their program of interest, the student can take advantage of this program to obtain the Academic English language skills needed to complete a degree.
If you have already achieved one of these minimum test scores, you may be eligible to enter Level 5 of the IAEP directly:
An equivalent minimum average of 70% over the following senior level courses, with no less than 60% in each course: • English • Mathematics • A third academic course • A fourth academic course
