From Roman times, Italy’s contribution to world culture has been enormous.
Italy has made significant contributions to the evolution of the arts, sciences and ideas for the greater part of the last 700 years. Knowledge of Italian is a valuable skill; that alone or coupled with another area of study can open the doors to diverse career opportunities.
Students in the Italian program will learn to master the Italian language and develop an in-depth understanding of Italian culture and society.
The Faculty of Arts at Manitoba university offers three-year and four-year undergraduate degree options in Italian Studies and a minor in Italian.

The English Language Centre (ELC) at the University of Manitoba (UM) offers the full-time Intensive Academic English Program (IAEP).
If the student does not meet the English Language Proficiency requirement for their program of interest, the student can take advantage of this program to obtain the Academic English language skills needed to complete a degree.
If you have already achieved one of these minimum test scores, you may be eligible to enter Level 5 of the IAEP directly:
An equivalent minimum average of 70% over the following senior level courses, with no less than 60% in each course: • English • Mathematics • A third academic course • A fourth academic course.
