Medieval and Early Modern Studies at Manitoba university explores the formative period of European history, from the end of the Roman Empire to the Renaissance.
Students will take a broad approach to this pre-modern world, studying its literature, art, languages, history, music and culture.
The Faculty of Arts offers three- and four-year undergraduate degrees in Medieval and Early Modern Studies as well as a minor.

The English Language Centre (ELC) at the University of Manitoba (UM) offers the full-time Intensive Academic English Program (IAEP).
If the student does not meet the English Language Proficiency requirement for their program of interest, the student can take advantage of this program to obtain the Academic English language skills needed to complete a degree.
If you have already achieved one of these minimum test scores, you may be eligible to enter Level 5 of the IAEP directly:
An equivalent minimum average of 70% over the following senior level courses, with no less than 60% in each course: • English • Mathematics • A third academic course • A fourth academic course
