The Ukrainian program at Manitoba university teaches cultural literacy by providing language competence and a knowledge of texts, films and other forms of historical and cultural representation.
Students in the program will develop an enriched understanding of the Ukrainian contribution to both the European and North American cultural heritage.
The general program offers general exposure to the humanities and social sciences and an opportunity to concentrate studies in at least two subject areas.
This program is particularly suited to students who wish to seek employment or enter a professional academic program following graduation from Arts.

The English Language Centre (ELC) at the University of Manitoba (UM) offers the full-time Intensive Academic English Program (IAEP).
If the student does not meet the English Language Proficiency requirement for their program of interest, the student can take advantage of this program to obtain the Academic English language skills needed to complete a degree.
If you have already achieved one of these minimum test scores, you may be eligible to enter Level 5 of the IAEP directly:
An equivalent minimum average of 70% over the following senior level courses, with no less than 60% in each course: • English • Mathematics • A third academic course • A fourth academic course
