University of Manitoba offers strong links to other programs in science and medicine, in topics ranging from chemistry to microbiology to biology including cellular signaling and cancer biology, molecular biology, structural biology, biophysics and bioenergetics, genomics, and genetics.
Many courses include laboratory components to develop skills in scientific techniques and offer excellent preparation for graduate programs.

The English Language Centre (ELC) at the University of Manitoba (UM) offers the full-time Intensive Academic English Program (IAEP).
If the student does not meet the English Language Proficiency requirement for their program of interest, the student can take advantage of this program to obtain the Academic English language skills needed to complete a degree.
