Microbiology is the study of microscopic organisms: bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa and algae. Programs provide a comprehensive study of modern microbiology ranging from environmental to medical to molecular microbiology.
Many courses include laboratory components to develop skills in microbiological techniques. The Honors and cooperative work-study (co-op) programs provide experience in government, private sector and research laboratories.

The English Language Centre (ELC) at the University of Manitoba (UM) offers the full-time Intensive Academic English Program (IAEP).
If the student does not meet the English Language Proficiency requirement for their program of interest, the student can take advantage of this program to obtain the Academic English language skills needed to complete a degree.
Minimum score required: Pass Level 5/AEPUCE (Academic English Program for University and College Entrance)
Level 5
Also known as the Academic English Program for University and College Entrance (AEPUCE), Level 5 is designed to prepare students for admission to the University of Manitoba.
Students who successfully pass Level 5 meet the English Language Proficiency requirements of most programs at the University of Manitoba, the University of Winnipeg and Red River College.
If you have already achieved one of these minimum test scores, you may be eligible to enter Level 5 of the IAEP directly:
