Overview

Bachelor of Science - Microbiology

Students gain an appreciation for the microbes that provide novel solutions to today’s global challenges, from feeding the planet to providing alternative fuel sources and novel therapeutics.

The University of Manitoba is home to the only stand-alone Microbiology department in Canada, which is sustained through the active research of faculty.

While Microbiology stands as an independent unit, the program also emphasizes integration with other science programs on campus, and Microbiology centres within the larger community.

The program offers joint honours degree options for those interested in Biochemistry or Genetics.
