Engineering uses the principles of math and science to find practical solutions to the everyday problems and needs of society.
The mechanical engineering program at Manitoba provides an education that embraces, among other subdivisions, the design of mechanical devices and systems, manufacturing engineering and management, computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing, power generation and utilization, air conditioning, the material sciences, and the aeronautical sciences.
The mechanical engineering program offers basic training in the sciences, mathematics and fundamental engineering subjects followed by more specialized discipline-related subjects.
Students can choose technical electives to suit their career objectives and are also required to take complementary studies electives related to social issues.
Each student within the faculty has the option of entering into our Co-op/IIP program where they will gain hands-on, paid work experience.
Students who successfully complete the Co-op/IIP program will have it indicated on their degree parchment and will receive credit hours towards their professional engineering certification.
In that case, you can choose an “undeclared” major in the application portal at your study commencing.
