Animal behaviour is a specialist field important to many animal-related professions.
Animal behaviour at the University of Adelaide informs how animals are treated and managed with direct application in animal welfare, the management of animals in intensive and extensive systems, and how animals are viewed in society.
Animal behaviour can also be used to better understand human behaviour, as there are many commonalities in the biological and genetic regulation of behaviour.
This additional focused training will equip students to work in several fields, including animal training, animal management, and wildlife, as well as research and education.
This program requires 120 hours of professional work experience in Semester 2 of the program's third year.
Throughout your degree, you’ll undertake professional work experience placements at locations such as shelters, training facilities, zoological parks and farms.
