As part of QUT's finance major, you'll gain a comprehensive understanding of essential finance concepts and skills crucial for success in the finance industry.
This course covers financial management, investment analysis, risk management, and fundamentals of financial planning.
Additionally, you'll acquire practical budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting skills through hands-on projects and real-world case studies.
You will also have many practical hands-on learning opportunities, such as capital investment appraisal, firm valuation, portfolio allocations, and risk management, using current information from our Economics and Finance Bloomberg Lab.
The lab provides access to real-time financial data from Bloomberg, a leading provider for top financial institutions worldwide.
This extensive dataset covers companies, commodities, and economies, enabling you to apply classroom theories to real-world financial analysis.
Finally, you will work in teams in the Finance Capstone Unit to prepare an authentic case study report for a real-world client using state-of-the-art Bloomberg investment analysis tools.
Collaborating as a team, you will critically analyse their corporate finance challenges and create a comprehensive case study report with tailored recommendations to suit their needs.
You will then deliver your case study as a pitch to the real-world client, showcasing your expertise in the field.
