Computer science is the scientific and practical approach to computer-based system design, development and operation.
It deals with areas ranging from the fundamental principles of computation to tools and techniques for IT system development and evaluation, including:
Identifying and solving systems design issues associated with efficiency, usability and security
Computer science applications extend into specialised areas, including mobile computing, artificial intelligence, robotics, and large-scale information management involving information retrieval and web search engines.
If you want to work with cutting-edge technology and be a part of creating technologies that have not yet been invented, a computer science career could be for you.
You will have practical, hands-on experiences throughout your course. In addition, you will have the option of further specialisations by choosing your minors or second major.
Your final year is your opportunity to showcase your skills with a major project.
Your project will be for a real-world client and unveiled at the IT and Games Showcase, held at the end of the year.

When you have completed this course and met the faculty progression requirements, you will be guaranteed a place in the first year of your chosen bachelor's degree.
There are four foundation streams to choose from, each with 4 units.
You will be allocated to the streams based on your selected Bachelor's degree course and progression requirements (i.e. degree course pre-requisites).
