The Bachelor of Games and Interactive Environments (Animation) degree at QUT gives you practical skills in motion graphics, 3D modelling and animation.
You will acquire underlying conceptual knowledge of the field of animation and develop the professional skills to work within the animation industry effectively.
You will develop a depth of understanding in the animation discipline and be able to apply creative, critical and reflective practice and multi-disciplinary theory to game design and development problem-solving processes.
You'll develop the skills to apply modelling and abstraction techniques within complex game animation domains.
You will gain experience in the whole process of the game and interactive media development:
From identification and evaluation of ideas, creation of design concepts, critique of existing and potential products, analysis of the cultural impact and industry trends, to the development and delivery of a final product.
This major provides you with important animation skills and the core principles, concepts and history of animation.
You learn and apply current and emerging techniques within the animation industry, including motion graphics, 3D modelling and animation, real-time 3D and character animation.
Through practice-based projects, you will be allowed to refine your skills and expand your knowledge of the animation industry.

When you have completed this course and met the faculty progression requirements, you will be guaranteed a place in the first year of your chosen bachelor's degree.
There are four foundation streams to choose from, each with 4 units.
