A double degree in biomedical science and business gives students the knowledge to work in multidisciplinary teams in biomedical research, development and commercialisation.

During this degree at QUT, you will complete core biomedical science units that develop foundation knowledge and skills in biomedical science. 

Your business studies will focus on fundamental knowledge that will build an understanding of how businesses operate within the commercial and legal environment.

This degree offers you the flexibility to choose a major study area or two minor study areas in biomedical science and a major study area in business. 

Your degree will integrate real case studies and offer valuable opportunities to network with the industry. 

Students may also complete work experience in an industry, clinical or research-oriented workplace.

You can submit your application without choosing a major by selecting the “Nominate at start of studies” option. 

But you can choose one major from the list below:

• Anatomical Sciences/one of the Business majors
• Cell and Molecular Biotechnology/one of the Business majors
• Human Biochemistry/one of the Business majors
• Human Physiology/one of the Business majors
• Infection and Immunity/one of the Business majors

Business majors include accounting, advertising, economics, behavioural economics, finance, financial planning, human resource management, international business, management, entrepreneurship and innovation, marketing, or public relations.

Assumed knowledge: 

A pass in Australian Year 12 or equivalent

• Biology (Units 3 & 4, C) or Chemistry (Units 3 & 4, C)
• Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C)

India:

• Senior/Higher Secondary School Certificate/Pre-University certificate from QUT-recognised state education boards with an overall average of 75% in the best five academic subjects.
• Indian School Certificate academic stream awarded by CISCE with an overall average of 60% in the best five academic subjects.
• All India Senior School Certificate academic stream awarded by CBSE with an overall average of 60% in the best five academic subjects.

China: 

• GAOKAO 60% in best 4 academic subjects.
   

Iran:

• Before 2020: Pre-University Certificate with a grade average of 15 on a 20-point scale.
• From 2020: National High School Diploma/Secondary School Leaving Certificate with a grade average of 15 on a 20-point scale in the final year (Grade 12).
