International Relations is the study of the relationships between countries and governmental and non-governmental organizations.
IR operates as an inter-and multi-disciplinary program in which core and elective courses are drawn from various disciplines such as political science, history, modern languages and literature, sociology, anthropology, economics, geography, and environmental studies.
At Mount Allison University, the International Relations program is centred around political science, language, and economics courses.
The program provides students with a broad range of intellectual and critical skills for analyzing the interactions between political and economic systems, cultural norms, environmental dynamics, and power hierarchies.
In the first and second years, you'll take introductory courses in economics, political science, and international relations. In the third and fourth years, you will begin to specialize.

If you meet Mount Allison's academic requirements, but don't meet our English proficiency requirements, you may be offered conditional admission.
If you're offered conditional admission, you can enroll in one of our English pathway programs designed for students who need extra time and training to meet our English proficiency requirements, and who would like to benefit from additional transition time and academic preparation before full-time study.

Once you successfully complete one of Mount Allison's English language programs, you will get unconditional admission to Mount Allison (if you meet our academic requirements). No additional TOEFL or IELTS tests will be required.

Regular admission: To be considered for admission, a minimum final grade of 65% or the equivalent is required in all university-preparatory courses reviewed.
Early admission: Applicants may be considered for early admission based on their final grade 11 transcripts. A minimum admissions average of 80% is required for consideration.
China requirements:
Students studying at vocational/technical high schools may be considered if they have strong grades and their educational background is relevant to their intended field of study.
