Architectural Technology is the third year of an Ontario College Advanced Diploma program that prepares you for a career in the architectural profession and the construction industry.
Graduates of the two-year Architectural Technician Ontario College Diploma program may consider taking the third-year, Architectural Technology program to build on their previous studies.
In the Architectural Technology program, you focus on commercial construction and large buildings. You participate in a team project that brings together all facets of building construction including:
Revit Architecture is used to execute the design and technical resolution for the project.
Students also have the option to gain real-world experience through a paid co-operative education (co-op) work term. Please note that places in the co-op version of the program are subject to availability.
Graduates may also consider applying for advanced standing in several Algonquin College programs such as:
the Bachelor of Building Science Degree program, the Green Architecture Ontario College Graduate Certificate program or the Building Information Modeling - Lifecycle Management (BIM-LM) Ontario College Graduate Certificate program.

1)Completed one year of recognized, full-time post-secondary education (not language training) in English in an English speaking country.
2)Completed secondary education in English in a country other than Canada where English is the principal language.
3)Completed an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or Canadian provincial equivalent) and English credit (Grade 12 U, M or C) issued by a Canadian school board.
4)Successful completed the Advanced Placement (AP) English Language & Composition or AP Literature & Composition; or completed the International Baccalaureate English A (higher-level or standard-level).
5)Completed a diploma from an international secondary school that uses English as the language of instruction but operates in a country where the primary language is not English.
6)Graduation from an authorized Algonquin College ESL pathway program.
7)Successful completion of the Algonquin College EAP program.
